Residents of Random Island are being asked to secure themselves inside their homes as RCMP conduct an investigation into possible weapons offence in the community.
Police issued a warning late Saturday afternoon after responding to a report “involving a firearm and a vehicle.”
RCMP are looking for a black BMW and are asking residents to stay indoors for the time being.
Meanwhile, RCMP posted online before 5:30 p.m. that officers from Bay Roberts were responding to a black BMW on fire in Mackinsons. It is not clear at this time if the two incidents are connected.
