The town of Paradise has lifted its State of Emergency after the situation at Lift Station 10 has been stabilized.
The State of Emergency was put in place on November 4th after staff noticed that the pumps were not working property during a regular inspection on November 1st.
The lift station handles the largest volume of wastewater in the town. The State of Emergency was declared to get the resources needed to address the problem.
The town says a replacement pump was delivered on November 17th after a series of weather delays, and the town says crews have been working since then to install a system bypass.
The town says crews will continue to monitor the situation while repairs are carried out.
It’s not the first time problems have been encountered at the aging facility. Construction on a new $24 million facility began last year and is expected to be up and running in the coming year.
