NAPE says the person assaulted by a stranger in the capital city’s downtown yesterday was a sheriff’s officer.
The union says the sheriff’s officer was attacked while cleaning off their car after work.
NAPE calls the incident “unacceptable.”
A 39-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with assaulting a peace officer, breach of a release order and breach of probation.
