- Central Newfoundland is mourning the loss of the remaining member of an entrepreneurial couple who launched a school to train airline pilots.
Florence White, who battled cancer the past few years, passed away on Friday. Her husband, aviator Pat White, died last fall.
EVAS Air, based in Gander, not only trains pilots but flies commercially.
White, who was 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Norris Arm. Visitation will take place at the home Sunday evening with funeral services scheduled for Monday at 1:00 in Lewisporte.
