Clarenville Caribous dropped the final game of the Allen Cup yesterday, losing 9-5 to the Wentworth Gryphins.
The game started close, with Adam Reid and Kevin Dawe getting on the board, and was tied after the 1st period. But, a disastrous 2nd period had the Caribou drop seven unanswered goals.
The Caribous made it to the finals after a decisive victory against the St. John’s Caps in the semi-finals, after a bye in the opening round.
The Wentworth Gryphins are based out of Waterdown, Ontario, just outside Hamilton.
