Disc Golf Newfoundland and Labrador is hoping to “get ahead of the curve” when it comes to vandalism at a course in Airport Heights.
The organization first filed a report with the RNC about the damage at the facility about a week ago.
Acting president Daniel Henderson says the damage is mostly superficial, noting that it started with a few trees being cut down.
Then, however, they noticed that there was “extensive damage” to one of their tee pads, wood that they use for maintenance around the course was “strewn about,” there was a burn pit, and empty beer cans around.
As for next steps, Henderson says they are still waiting to hear back from the RNC on their initial report.
He says they have now also received reports of ATVs using the course. He says there is nothing to suggest the same group is responsible, but they do want to make sure the course is safe to use for all.
