Two new breakwaters proposed to help protect municipal infrastructure in Cox’s Cove from storm surge are now in the Environmental Assessment process.
The breakwaters, along the main road in Cox’s Cove, will span approximately 350 metres in total and will be constructed using armour stone.
The two sea walls are being built to help protect the road and water and sewer lines from the fury of the ocean in stormy conditions.
Joint funding for the project was announced last year. If approved, the work could get underway by August.
