A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a stabbing incident on George Street on the weekend that sent two other boys to hospital with injuries.
RNC were called to George Street around 3:45 on Saturday morning where a large group of teenagers were seen running from the area.
Two boys, ages 16 and 17, were taken to hospital for treatment of stab wounds. They’ve since been released.
Officers were able to identify and locate the suspect, a 16-year-old boy was taken into custody shortly after 4:00 that same morning. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police say the incident was a targeted event and those involved were known to each other.
The accused was held in custody pending a court appearance.
