Butlerville’s Jacob Lewis is still buzzing after last night’s thrilling Canada’s Got Talent win.
Lewis belted out a performance of Tina Turner’s ‘The Best’ just before being announced as the winner, which comes with a $1-million prize.
It was announced during the broadcast that a record number of votes were cast.

Lewis says he did expect a lot of people to vote because he has a lot of friends and family, and Newfoundland is very supportive, but what he did receive “blew (him) away.”
“I couldn’t believe how much support actually did show up. All of Newfoundland was tuned in, there were folks all across Canada. I really can’t thank everyone enough.”
As for what Lewis will do with his winnings, he already has a couple of plans.
“Well, first thing I’ve got to get caught up on some bills”, he jokes, continuing that he plans to take his family on a nice trip and put some money towards helping his kids out financially when they get older.
