The opposition MHA for Grand Falls-Windsor–Buchans is raising concerns as staffing challenges have led to the temporary shutdown of radiology services at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.
Chris Tibbs says residents of Grand Falls-Windsor were recently notified that, as of last Monday, radiology at the hospital would not be available for nearly a month.
Health Minister Krista Lynn Howell says they’re working through “HR challenges” and are looking to shore up services in the region.
Tibbs says the hospital is overcrowded and staff are “swamped.” He also claims that patients are dying “needlessly” because services are being taken away from the area.
