Two of the province’s most popular tourism destinations open for the season today.
The Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, a massive gannet nesting colony just feet from walking trails, and the Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are now open to the public.
Last year Cape St. Mary’s saw close to 14,000 visitors. Mistaken Point led 247 guided hikes to the site of the fossilized remains of some of the world’s very first complex life forms.
The sites will remain open until Friday, October 17th.
