An award-winning Newfoundland author has won another honour for his work.
Michael Crummey has won the Dublin Literary Award’s top prize of €100,000 for his book, The Adversary, a dark tale set in Newfoundland with political overtones.
Crummey’s novel was nominated by Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries and was chosen from a shortlist of six novels from a range of international authors representing Ireland, the United States, Argentina, and the Netherlands.
The Buchan’s native says he was surprised by the prestigious honour.
Crummey joked “I would imagine that most of you in the audience are just as surprised by this as I am.”
