A 37-year-old who was taken off the road is facing charges after reports of a dangerous driver weaving all over the Trans Canada in the area of Terra Nova National Park.
Glovertown RCMP first received calls about a reckless driver on the highway near Charlottetown around 7:00 Tuesday evening.
The eastbound vehicle, which was speeding and swerving around on the roadway, nearly collided with another vehicle.
Minutes later, Clarenville RCMP were contacted about an eastbound vehicle on the Trans Canada near Port Blandford.
Police stopped the vehicle, and the driver was taken to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were nearly twice the legal limit.
The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was seized and impounded.
