The leader of the Progressive Conservatives is doubling down on his calls for the Auditor General to investigate the agreements surrounding the former Comfort Inn, now Horizons 106, on Airport Road.
Government first announced they had entered into a three-year lease for use of the building in January 2024.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the owners of the building had sold it, but that the leasing agreement would continue.
Now, government has issued an RFP for a program that will eventually replace Horizons 106, with the goal being to have the new initiative up and running by next year.
Tony Wakeham calls that an “admission” that government “did not follow proper competitive processes.”
Wakeham accuses Liberal insiders of profiting from the agreement, and now that the building is sold they are “pulling the funding.”
He argues that the AG should be brought in to investigate the deal.
