A 21-year-old woman who was drinking downtown will wake up with a sore head and a meeting with a judge after assaulting a police officer.
The incident happened just before 3:00 this morning, when the RNC says an officer was on foot patrol when the woman assaulted the cop.
The officer was not injured.
The woman was taken into custody and will appear in court later this morning.
