Impaired driving charges are pending after a woman smashed her vehicle into two RCMP cruisers in Colliers over the weekend.
Holyrood RCMP flashed the lights on the car around 1:20 Saturday morning but the driver took off at a high rate of speed.
Officers did not give chase in the interest of public safety. The vehicle in question was spotted a short time later and the driver hit the gas again – this time slamming into two police vehicles.
There were no injuries, however one of the cruisers was badly damaged.
The woman behind the wheel, 32-year-old Desiree Lewis, showed signs of drug impairment and was taken to hospital where blood samples were collected.
Lewis is charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while prohibited and failure to comply with a probation order.
RCMP are awaiting the results of the blood analysis to determine if impaired driving charges are warranted.
Lewis, who was released on strict conditions, will appear in court on October 22.
