A curler who has won it all on all fronts will call it a career after this season.
Brad Gushue first burst onto the scene by winning the world junior championship and has never looked back.
He and Mark Nichols have invaded more living rooms in Newfoundland and Labrador than just about any sports figures in the province’s history.
Gushue, in a Facebook announcement, said this season will be his last.
The NL rink not only is the winningest in brier history, but they have an Olympic gold medal and bronze medal around their neck.
Gushue spoke to VOCM after winning his record sixth Brier in March of 2024
He has completed his curling bucket list. He says years ago, he had a list of objectives. He feels he has accomplished those, and is leaving on a high note with no challenge unanswered.
But he is not quite finished yet. He says his team is up for the final season and raring to go.
