A non-profit community counselling agency is expanding its services thanks to a major donation from the Northpine Foundation.
The Ruah Counselling Centre offers counselling services for individuals, couples, families and teens 16 years of age and older.
Executive director Amelia O’Dea told VOCM Open Line host Brian Callahan that they’ve recently received support from the Northpine Foundation to the tune of $875,000 to fund their operations for a two-year period.
She says the funding will help them expand their services to rural and remote areas virtually.
“Which is going to increase accessibility to mental health services, reduce wait times, which is often a huge issue, and we’re just so grateful and excited for this opportunity.”
