Schools across the St. John’s Metro region will remain closed, Wednesday, due to ongoing road safety concerns.
NL Schools says the decision follows consultation with local busing contractors. While main roads in the region have been cleared, many side streets remain narrow, making it unsafe for school buses to complete regular pick-up and drop-off routes.
The closure affects schools in Mount Pearl, Paradise, Conception Bay South, Portugal Cove–St. Philip’s, Torbay, Pouch Cove, Flatrock, Bauline, Bell Island and Logy Bay–Middle Cove–Outer Cove.
Officials say they will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.
