A 78-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in McIvers Wednesday morning that resulted in a shelter-in-place advisory.
RNC were called to Lower Cove Road in McIvers and discovered that shots had been fired. Area residents were urged to lock their doors and stay away from their windows.
There were no injuries.
The home was contained and 78-year-old Arthur Parsons was arrested without incident. The shelter-in-place was subsequently lifted.
Parsons is facing charges of attempted murder, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a vehicle and other firearms-related charges.
He was held in custody to appear in court today.
