Six-time champion Brad Gushue got off on the right foot at the Montana’s Brier at the Mary Brown’s Centre last night. His rink defeated Quebec 10-2 in the opening draw.
The 45-year-old is competing in his final Brier.
Nathan Young, representing Newfoundland and Labrador at the event, also won – 8-4 over Nunavut.
Two more draws are on today – 2:30 and 7:30. Both Gushue and Young are on the 7:30 card.
Olympic gold medalist Brad Jacobs also won his opening match last night.
