Over 300 people will be walking through downtown St. John’s beginning late this afternoon as part of an event to raise money for and awareness of programs and services for vulnerable youth.
The Coldest Night of the Year Walk starts at 4:15 at Atlantic place, winds through downtown streets, and wraps up back at Atlantic Place.
Each walker commits to a distance of 2.5 km with the overall objective to raise $65,000
Katie Keats, the manager of fund development and communication with the lead agency, Choices for Youth, says the event shows their commitment to social justice and ending youth homelessness.
