More messy weather is on the way for the entire province tonight and into tomorrow.
Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil says the system starts out as a wintry mix for most on the island beginning tonight with some snow and freezing rain, but by tomorrow the temperatures are going to rise in to the low single digits for most – some could even hit double digits.
He says the south and southwest coasts are in for a significant amount of rain, noting that the Burgeo and Ramea areas will see the worst of it.
He says some areas inland and over higher terrain could see up to 100 mm. There are rainfall warnings out for the other areas of the south coast too, with between 15 and 70 mm possibly depending on where you are.
For areas in Labrador, 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected before the changeover to rain.
However, temperatures plummet below freezing once again tomorrow night.
