The province’s largest town is happy with the roads budget brought down by the PC government last week.
The blueprint calls for new pavement on the main highway in Upper Gullies, and on a section of Topsail Road near Topsail Beach. There will also be upgrades at the Foxtrap Overpass interchange and rehabilitation of the Manuels CNR overpass.
Mayor Darrin Bent says residents have been waiting for a long time for those upgrades. He says the projects will improve transportation routes that serve residents, and connect the community with the wider region.
