More than $35.6 million in joint funding has been announced for improvements to municipal water and sewer infrastructure in Corner Brook.
More than $12 million of that funding will be used for a new water storage tank, pumping system, and expansion of the water distribution system in the west coast city.
It’s expected that the new system will tie into the existing one and allow for the building of 300 new homes.
The funding is part of $123 million allocated to the province through the federal government. It’s earmarked to help preserve existing capacity and improve the reliability of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste systems.
