An internationally-recognized neuroscientist and MUN professor has died.
Dr. Michelle Ploughman passed away last week at the age of 59 following a battle with breast cancer.
Ploughman, who completed her master’s and PhD in neuroscience at MUN, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill, would become internationally renowned for her work in the areas of brain injury, stroke, and multiple sclerosis.
She served as the president of the Brain Injury Association of NL for 10 years.
A celebration of Dr. Ploughman’s life will be held at the Justina Centre in Middle Cove in June.
