The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is seeking answers about what it says is $153,000 in missing polling data requested by the former government under Andrew Furey.
CTF Atlantic Director and General Counsel Devin Drover claims that taxpayers were forced to “shell out $153,000 for public opinion tracking.” They deserve to know what happened to that money.
He says the money was paid to MQO Research for “public opinion tracking” from March 2022 to January 31, 2025, but the results don’t appear to be readily available.
“After that spending, when we asked for the actual polling results – the reports, the presentations, the deliverables – government officials have come back and said they actually can’t find them. So, taxpayers are on the hook for $153,000 in polling, but right now there’s no visible results, no reports, and no clear explanation for where any of it went. So we think this should set off alarm bells for every taxpayer in Newfoundland and Labrador.”
