Wildlife officials are aware of a pair of polar bears that have been spotted in and around Black Tickle, Labrador over the last couple of days.
Local residents have captured two animals on video, one slightly larger than the other, moving about near the harbour and walking through the community.
It’s not unusual to see polar bears along the south coast of Labrador and northeast coast of Newfoundland this time of year as the sea ice moves down along the coast.
The department says an update will be provided as it becomes available.
