Two violent incidents in Grand Falls-Windsor last week has raised concerns among violence prevention advocates.
One person remains in hospital following a shooting in the town last Wednesday, the suspect was found dead a short time later after fleeing the scene.

Janet McNaughton of Act Now has been advocating for ankle monitoring in high risk cases involving those accused of domestic abuse and violence.
McNaughton has no knowledge or information on the incidents that occurred last week, but says it speaks to a larger issue.
She told VOCM Open Line with guest host Darrin Bent that ankle monitoring has proven very effective in provinces where the program has been implemented.
“Risk assessment tools can actually predict the level of danger that a woman is in. Once you know that, there are safety plans that can be put in place. Prince Edward Island hasn’t had an intimate partner violence homicide since 2015.”
Newfoundland and Labrador currently has a “patchwork” of tools that she says are ineffective.
“What we need is a coordinated response. For professionals to start coming together and communicating.”
“Because a family doctor might have one piece of the puzzle, a teacher might have another, maybe a police officer knows something, and individually none of those pieces really raise a red flag, but when you put them all together, you can tell that this is headed toward tragedy.”
