Eight Newfoundlanders and Labradorians will be named to the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador at the end of the month.
This is the 17th time the Lieutenant Governor has been added to the growing list, which now tops 150.
The Lieutenant Governor late last week noting the list now reaches 151 people, including this years investments:
- Everard (Bud) Davidge – Cultural
- Clifford R. George – Arts/Literature/Cultural
- Liam Hickey – Sport/Recreation/Fitness
- Sagmaw Mi’sel Joe – Cultural
- Andy Jones – Art, Literature, Mental Health Advocacy
- Patrick O’Callaghan – Humanitarian Activities
- Guy Poole – Volunteerism
- Andrea Rose – Education
The ceremony will take place on October 30th at the Government House in St. John’s.
“Those recipients announced today (Friday) have excelled in their fields and through their actions have made our province a better place. We will be very pleased to welcome them to Government House for this 17th investiture of the Order, and to celebrate their remarkable achievements,” said Joan Marie Aylward in a release.
