Five community-led environmental projects have been selected by Newfoundland Power for funding and support in-kind.
Mount Carmel-Mitchell’s Brook-St. Catherine’s is going to improve accessibility in the community garden; the town of Terrenceville will develop a new gathering area as a space for community connection; Centreville-Wareham-Trinity will install an eco-friendly restroom facility; a Grand Falls-Windsor youth group will add an accessible garden to promote outdoor activity and; Bishop Feild Elementary in St. John’s will create a greener space by planting trees, shrubs and flowers.
EnviroFest is the cornerstone of the utility’s environmental program. This year’s events will be held June 2-6.
