A young man is in serious condition after a moose-vehicle crash on the TCH east of Whitbourne. The accident happened just after dark last night. Another person in the car was also taken to hospital with less serious injuries.
Whitbourne Fire Chief Jamie Budden says there were two other moose-vehicle collisions last night in the three-hour period from roughly 9:00 to midnight.
He’s urging people who are on the road to be thinking moose.
He says they’re seeing an upswing in the presence of moose on our highways and collisions with vehicles.
“In addition to the three last night, we had two in the last week or two, so we’re asking people to be aware and reduce speed, especially at night,” says Budden.
