Newfoundland and Labrador has named its flag bearer for the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s.
Nathan Luscombe of Grand Falls-Windsor, a swimmer who was born with a disability, was taken by surprise last night at a rally at the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre.
The decorated swimmer has been an athlete since he was 10-years-old when he took up the sport to help with back and other issues caused by spina bifida.
He won a silver and bronze in two swimming categories at the last games, Niagara Falls.
He says the more he swam, the better he felt out of the pool.
Team NL also unveiled its athletic wear for the games last night.
