The province is looking for more information on the availability of vessels that could be used in the intraprovincial ferry system.
Last week, under mounting pressure from frustrated users, government announced that they would be moving the Astron from Fogo Island to the Bell Island run.
While that satisfied Bell Island residents, it amplified the discontent with those on Fogo Island, resulting in a protest.
A kibosh was put on all of that, however, when the sole ferry that was to service Fogo went down with mechanical issues.
Now, government has issued a request for information on the availability of roll-on roll-off ferries that could be added to the fleet.
