A delegation from this province has just returned from a trip to the Northwest Territories to learn about best practices there that could be applied to Labrador west.
Labrador affairs minister Lisa Dempster and other officials with the province, representatives from Lab City and Wabush, the Iron Ore Company of Canada, Champion Iron, and the Labrador West Chamber of Commerce were all in attendance.
The trip included meetings with various government officials, airlines, and realtors.
They discussed a number of topics, including northern security, energy supply, search and rescue, air access, mining, housing, and labour market readiness.
