The provincial government will be matching donations that come in to the Red Cross for wildfire relief in this province.
On Thursday, Ottawa announced that they will be matching all donations made in a 30 day period, retroactive to August 14th.
Premier John Hogan says the province will be doing the same, with all donations between August 14th and September 13th being matched.
As Hogan explains, both the federal and provincial matching programs will make a difference to the amount of money raised.
With the federal component factored in, every dollar donated will be tripled. Hogan says that money will help to ensure the Red Cross has the resources it needs to help evacuees and provide relief.
