The province-wide fire ban has been lifted.
The ban was put in place on August 5th due to extreme dry conditions and major fires in the Conception Bay North area and at Martin Lake.
Government is offering a reminder that it’s still forest fire season and those interested in having a fire are asked to check the local Fire Hazard Index.
Fires are prohibited whenever the index is high or extreme.
The current index is low for all parts of the province.
