The three hopefuls for Premier are in different areas of the province today.
Liberal leader John Hogan continues his tour of Labrador with a stop in the Lab City/Wabush area while Tony Wakeham will be in Deer Lake and Jim Dinn in the metro region.
Yesterday, PC Leader Tony Wakeham promised support for healthcare workers, the expansion of the RNU’s travel locum program and an overhaul of the recruitment and retention process.
He also promised four new MRI machines, at an estimated cost of $4.4-million.
NDP Leader Jim Dinn called for an end to corporate and union donations to political parties, suggesting that they give companies and individuals unfair access and preferential treatment.
He also accused the PCs of not taking a strong enough stance on their electoral reform promise, citing Newfoundland Power’s donations to the party.
Meanwhile, the Liberals were in Happy Valley-Goose Bay where Leader John Hogan promised a Churchill Transformation Readiness Strategy for Labrador to ensure that the region is ready for the socio-economic impacts of mega projects going forward.
He says the Liberals would also provide health care, housing, transportation, and education to communities facing an increased population from the energy deal.
VOCM News will continue to follow all three leaders and have more information as it becomes available.
