A 19-year-old man from Harbour Grace has been arrested and charged after police attempted to pull over the pickup truck he was driving for some pretty obvious defects.
Harbour Grace RCMP, patrolling on Ridge Road in Victoria, noticed the truck, which was missing its bed and had a defective headlight, and attempted to pull it over.
Instead the truck sped off. Police decided not to pursue in the interest of public safety.
A short time later the pickup was found on a gravel road and impounded. Officers arrested the driver who was charged with flight from police under the Criminal Code, and numerous citations under the Highway Traffic Act for lacking many of the basic driving credentials including insurance, a driver’s licence, vehicle registration and licence plate.
