The NDP wants to see the new PC government’s plan to address rising home heating costs.
MHA Sheilagh O’Leary is urging government to take “immediate action” to help residents stay warm this winter.
O’Leary says constituents she’s spoken with are worried about the rising cost of heat and some are even afraid to turn on their thermostats, holding off until absolutely necessary.
O’Leary says the PCs voted against an NDP Private Members Motion to remove the provincial HST from all forms of home heating including electricity, wood, oil and propane.
Now she wants to know what government’s plan for affordability will be.
