A local company is one of a number exploring opportunities in Guyana’s burgeoning oil and gas sector.
Altomaxx provides drone technology to a variety of marine industries and Chief Operating Officer Steve Priestly is just back from a trip to the South American nation as part of a broader trade mission spearheaded by Energy NL.

“These trade missions allow companies like ourselves to go explore new opportunities for growth, which allows us to grow here in Newfoundland and Labrador , grow FTEs here locally, and expand globally with those people, and with the people from this province.”

He says they were eager to explore the market in Guyana.
“There’s a clear gap in the market for the type of service that we offer. We offer specialized drone services and this is something where the current infrastructure in Guyana just doesn’t have, and we wanted to go down and kind of kick tires.”
