The Fisheries and Marine Institute can see themselves playing a significant role following the deal announced this week for Bay du Nord and the new drydock in Bull Arm.
The head of the School of Maritime Studies, Captain Kris Drodge, says they are “very uniquely positioned” to collaborate on any offshore project, including Bay du Nord.
They already have programs and specialized centres, and those can be scaled and tailored for what he says could be “decades of new offshore operations and now vessel maintenance activities.”
