The provinces of Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador are yet to join the National Energy Grid, awaiting the findings of a review panel set up to assess the MOU reached between the two provinces on the Upper Churchill.
The issue was raised during Question Period in debate between Opposition Leader John Hogan and Energy Minister Lloyd Parrott.
Parrott says the two provinces did not sign on, waiting to see the results of the province’s review panel. “We have had discussions with the federal government. They know our interest in a national energy corridor and a national energy grid. They know we’re here for them, and we know they’re here for us.”
