Residents of a downtown St. John’s neighbourhood now have a new community space that will offer supports and programming for those in the area.
The Centreville Neighbourhood Association represents people in the Long’s Hill and Livingstone Street areas.
After several years of advocacy, the group was provided with a house on Livingstone Street that has now become Centreville Place.
To make it happen, the group received grants from several organizations – including NL Housing and VOCM Cares.
Organizer Courtney Davis says numerous supports and programs will be offered at the space, including help with food insecurity, mental health and addictions, and things for families, such as homework support.
