A man previously identified by RCMP in Conception Bay North as a “prolific offender” is back in custody following a frightening incident over the weekend.
Police were first called to a home on Marsh Road in Victoria just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday to reports of a break and enter.
They say the homeowner refused to let the suspect in, but the culprit forced his way inside using a hand tool. According to police, the homeowner was threatened, and forcibly confined inside the home before the suspect fled the area.
Thirty-four-year-old Justin King, who was arrested last month in connection to a raft of break-ins in the region, is facing more charges including break and enter with intent, extortion without a firearm, and forcible confinement.
King appeared in court yesterday on the following charges:
- Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence,
- Extortion without a firearm,
- Uttering threats,
- Forcible confinement,
- Possession of break-in instruments,
- Failure to comply with a Release Order – five counts.
