The Justice Minister says the Atlantic Police Academy has never seen so many recruits from Newfoundland and Labrador ready to join the RNC.

Some 18 new RNC officers were sworn in earlier this week with another 20 new recruits expected to be sworn in in September.

Helen Conway-Ottenheimer says she will do everything possible to make sure the RNC is adequately staffed.

“We’re looking forward to seeing policing, the courts, and the Crown attorneys, all of that will be supported.”

“It has been a commitment of our government to invest in those areas, because we need to have serious reform of our entire justice system, and we are committed to doing that.”
