Volunteers with the Twillingate Fire Department helped out yesterday with the rescue of a hiker in distress.
The hiker had fallen on a trail in a rocky and difficult area.
Emergency crews got to the person and were able to carry them safely to a waiting ambulance for medical treatment.
The fire department is offering its thanks to the public for their help and they’re urging visitors and residents alike to use caution while enjoying the area’s hiking trails.
