Retired Recreation NL executive director Gary Milley has been recognized for his service – with the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association President’s Award of Distinction and the Premier’s Medal for Arts, Heritage, Sport and Recreation.
Milley had been associated with the Boys and Girls Club since 1968, having served as president of the organization’s provincial and national boards.
He was a founding member and long-serving chair of Tidy Towns NL, and has served with Recreation NL as the regional director and treasurer.
Milley was also instrumental in developing the province’s first Recreation and Sport Strategy.
