Demolition has begun on the old ferry terminal and waiting room on Bell Island.
Area MHA Fred Hutton says the $1 million project could result in some traffic diversions in getting on and off the ferries over the next few days.
Crews are on site to help and commuters are being reminded to use caution and be courteous.
Hutton says the new terminal and waiting room, which are expected to be completed this fall, will be fully accessible.
