It appears as though some drivers see portions of the Trans-Labrador Highway as an opportunity to hit the gas.
Mary’s Harbour RCMP recently suspended the licences of two drivers for speeding on the TLH on the southeast coast of Labrador.
A 34-year-old man had his licence suspended and was ticketed after being clocked driving at speeds up to 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone near St. Lewis Inlet.
A 67-year-old meanwhile was ticketed for speeding after he was pulled over for driving at speeds of up to 111 km/h in a construction zone near Lodge Bay where the speed limit was reduced to 30 km/h. His licence was also suspended.
